The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance or not in work and claiming Universal Credit decreased by 4,900 between June and July 2015, to 792,400.

The unemployment rate was 5.6% in April-June 2015. The ILO measure of unemployment was 1.85 million people, up 25,000 from the previous quarter and down 221,000 from the previous year.

The number of people in employment was 31.03 million in April-June 2015, down 63,000 from the previous quarter and up 354,000 from the previous year. The employment rate was 73.4%.
