Northern Ireland: border polls
The UK Secretary of State has the power to hold a border poll. They must hold one if they think a majority of people in Northern Ireland favour a united Ireland.

The Northern Ireland Assembly Members (Pay) Bill 2017-19 was introduced into the House of Commons on Wednesday 21 March 2018. The text of the Bill and Explanatory Notes will be made available on the Bill pages on the Parliamentary website.
The Bill would provide authority for the UK Government to implement the recommendations of the Reaney Report on the salaries of Northern Ireland Assembly Members whilst the Assembly is not sitting.
