The 2022 Commonwealth Games will take place in Birmingham between 27 July and 7 August 2022.
The Birmingham Commonwealth Games Bill [HL] 2019-20 was introduced in the House of Commons on 24 October 2019. The Bill would bring forward temporary measures to support the delivery of the 2022 Games. The measures would:
The Bill was originally introduced in the House of Lords on 5 June 2019. The Bill has been carried over to the current session. A date for second reading in the Commons has not been announced.

Gambling advertising has been permitted across all British media since 2007, but some are concerned that advertising could encourage harmful or excessive gambling.
