A new specific offence of assaulting a shopworker
The government’s proposed new offence would be part of the Crime and Policing Bill announced in the King’s Speech, but it hasn’t yet been introduced to Parliament.

Operation Midland and the Henriques report (125 KB , PDF)
The Henriques inquiry was set up to review the Metropolitan Police’s handling of a series allegations by a single individual that high profile individuals had been involved in the sexual abuse and deaths of boys in the 1970s and 1980s. The investigation, Operation Midland, ended in March 2016 with no charges being brought.
The Henriques report was published on 31 October 2016 and made 25 recommendations.
