General Debate on Deafness and Hearing Loss

Many commentators have concerns about the barriers that people with hearing loss face when it comes to entering employment and accessing services such as the NHS. These issues are also often linked to the legal and educational status of British Sign Language (BSL) and the provision of BSL interpreters. 

This paper looks at some of these issues.
