In her evidence to the Backbench Business Committee, Antoinette Sandbach MP said that there has not been a parliamentary backbench debate specifically on energy efficiency in homes and buildings for six years and that the Clean Growth Strategy had not been debated other than at its publication. The Clean Growth Strategy was published in October 2017 and sets out decarbonisation policies to meet the fourth and fifth carbon budgets. This debate pack outlines the Government’s policies with regard to energy efficiency, including those proposed in the Strategy as well as current and previous schemes. The pack also outlines press and parliamentary material related to energy efficiency and the Clean Growth Strategy.
