• The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance or out of work and claiming Universal Credit decreased by 31,000 between January and February 2015, to 791,200.
• The unemployment rate was 5.7% in November 2014-January 2015. The ILO measure of unemployment was 1.86 million people, down 102,000 from the previous quarter and down 479,000 from the previous year.
• The number of people in employment was 30.94 million in November 2014-January 2015, up 143,000 from the previous quarter and up 617,000 from the previous year. The employment rate was 73.3%. This is the highest level and rate since comparable records began in 1971.
