Promotion of tobacco products in Scotland (66 KB, PDF)
On 21st May 2008 the Scottish Government published a new Smoking Prevention Action Plan, 'Scotland's Future is Smoke-free'. This new action plan sets out a programme of measures designed specifically to dissuade children and young people from smoking. The purpose of this note is to consider just one of the measures: removing cigarettes and other tobacco products from promotional displays in shops and supermarkets.
