The purpose of this Standard Note is to list, by series, and in chronological order within each series, all pre-1995 House of Commons Library Research briefings. Many of them are not available electronically. About 2,000 documents fall into this category.

The series [in chronological order of establishment] are: Library Bibliographies, Research Division Miscellaneous Papers, Research Division Statistical Papers, Research Division Statistical Memoranda, Library Memoranda, House of Commons Library Documents, Reference Sheets, Background Papers, Research Notes and Research Papers. One document, published in 1991, is described as a ‘Standard Note’, but is not part of the current series with that title.
