The Fair Funding Review 2.0: How will council funding change?
The government proposes to change the way total funding for local authorities is distributed, aiming to make it fairer and simpler.

On 18 December 2013, the 2014/15 Local Government Finance Settlement was announced for consultation. Settlement funding assessments and spending power of local authorities will fall in 2014/15 by 9.4% and 2.9% respectively.

On 18 December 2013, a WMS announced the 2014/15 Local Government Finance Settlement for consultation. An illustrative settlement for 2015/16 was also released.
Settlement funding assessments for local authorities in England will fall by 9.4% in 2014/15 and 13.2% in 2015/16.
Spending power in England will fall by 2.9% in 2014/15 and 1.8% in 2015/16.
