The United Kingdom constitution – a mapping exercise
A briefing paper which "maps" (or summarises) the main elements of the United Kingdom's uncodified constitution.
During the Scottish independence referendum campaign the three main UK parties committed to further devolution of powers to the Scottish Parliament. This note traces the commitment to a “timetable”, and summarises substantive new powers proposed by each party.

The independence referendum in Scotland on 18 September 2014 returned a No vote by a margin of 55% to 45%. During the referendum campaign the three main UK parties committed to further devolution of powers to the Scottish Parliament.
This note traces the commitment to a “timetable” for new powers, summarises substantive new powers proposed by each party individually, and looks at commentaries on their potential impact.

A Westminster Hall debate on the fiscal impact of the Autumn Budget 2024 on Scotland is scheduled for Tuesday 7 January 2025 from 2.30pm until 4.00pm. The debate will be led by Greg Poynton MP.
