Overview

The good information toolkit is our essential collection of resources to help parliament get the facts, avoid misinformation and disinformation, and find reliable sources. It includes training for MPs and MPs’ staff on how to spot misinformation, as well as events with in-house experts and guest speakers from the academic, public and charity sectors. As part of the toolkit, you can also browse trusted and impartial guides and explainers from the Commons Library and Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST), which is available to all.

How does the good information toolkit help parliament avoid misinformation and disinformation?

We believe that a thriving democracy is a system that works on good information. So as part of the good information toolkit, our training and events give everyone in Parliament a chance to learn the skills and tools they need to navigate the current media and information landscape.

Training: How to spot misinformation

Our updated training course offers an introduction to misinformation in the UK, and its effect on society and democracy. Available for MPs and MPs’ staff.

The course covers different types of misinformation, how to spot it, and how it affects the political landscape, as well as giving you tools and techniques to find good information.
