• The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance decreased by 34,600 between January 2014 and February 2014 to 1.17 million people aged 18 or over, the lowest level since November 2008.
• The unemployment rate was 7.2% in November 2013 to January 2014. The ILO measure of unemployment was 2.33 million people, down 63,000 from the previous quarter and down 191,000 from the previous year.
• The number of people in employment was 30.19 million in November 2013 to January 2014, up 105,000 from the previous quarter and up 459,000 from the previous year. The employment rate was 72.3%
