Interactive dashboard showing data on dentists in England, including access to dentistry, the number of dentists and a list of NHS dental practices.
This interactive dashboard allows you to explore NHS data on dentists and dental practices. It provides a map and list of dental practices in each constituency, information on the percentage of people that have seen a dentist recently, and information on how the number of dentists has changed over time.
If you would like to access this information in an alternative format, please email papers@parliament.uk and we will review your request.
The locations of dental practices are sourced from NHS Digital’s ODS data (egdpprac file). This has been geolocated using Ordnance Survey addressing data and the ONS Postcode Directory.
Data on adults and children seen by a dentist recently, and data on the number of dentists, is taken from NHS Digital’s NHS Dental Statistics publication.
Data from March 2020 onwards was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Dental practices were instructed to close and cease all routine dental care from the 25 March 2020 and began to reopen from 8 June 2020.
We aim to update aspects of this dashboard in line with data releases from NHS Digital, but the data shown here may not be the latest available. MPs and their staff can contact the Commons Library with queries about updates.
