    UK-French co-operation over controls at their shared borders has been formalised through a series of bilateral agreements. The most recent joint Ministerial statement, signed on 14 November, commits the UK to providing up to £62.2 million in 2022-23. The funding will be used to support a package of further measures intended to make the small boat route "unviable".
