• The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance decreased by 24,000 between November and December 2013 to 1.25 million people aged 18 or over, the lowest level since January 2009.
• The unemployment rate was 7.1% in September-November 2013. The ILO measure of unemployment was 2.32 million people, down 167,000 from the previous quarter and down 172,000 from the previous year.
• The number of people in employment was 30.15 million in September-November 2013, up 280,000 from the previous quarter and up 450,000 from the previous year. The employment rate was 72.1%.
