This page provides data on the number of road traffic accident casualties by constituency in Great Britain during 2018. The data provided allows users to analyse the number of casualties by severity, type, age and sex.
The Department for Transport has published a custom reporting tool for traffic accident data. You can use this to get further detailed information on accidents and casualties in your constituency.
Use the dropdown menu below to select the constituency you’re interested in and view key statistics.
If you would like to access this information in an alternative format please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will review your request.
The analysis is based on the point-level data on accidents provided by the Department of Transport (DfT) Road accidents and safety statistics publication, and labelled with the stats19 R package (Lovelace et al., 2019).
The coordinates for an accident have been mapped to the boundaries of parliamentary constituencies. These may not match entirely with the aggregate number the DFT reports for constituencies.
We aim to update this dashboard annually. MPs and their staff can contact the Commons Library with queries about updates.
