This page provides constituency-level data on house prices in England and Wales. It also shows the latest data for neighbourhoods within each constituency.

The house price figures used are the median price paid for properties over the twelve months to the date shown. The figures aren’t adjusted for the mix of different property sizes and types sold in different periods and places.

We also provide an indicator of the affordability of house prices in each area: the house price to earnings ratio. This compares the median house price in the constituency with the median salary for full-time employees living there.

Notes

The median is the point at which half of house prices in the data are higher and half are lower.

The median house price is for the rolling year to the end of the month specified.

The affordability measure uses the median full-time employee salary for residents of the constituency. Weekly salary data is multiplied up to an annual figure and then averaged over three years (2021-23). Self-employed people and part-time workers are not included.

The neighbourhoods used in this dashboard are 2021 Census MSOAs, a type of small statistical area. You can read more about MSOAs and the names we used on our MSOA names page.

Data updates

We aim to update this dashboard in line with data releases from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Statistics for the parliamentary constituencies that will come into use at the next General Election are published as part of ONS’ Housing affordability in England and Wales: 2023 publication. The publication also includes data for other small areas.

ONS has also published statistics for current constituencies as an ad-hoc request.

We will update this page when further information about the future availability of constituency house price statistics is made available by ONS. MPs and their staff can contact the Commons Library with queries about updates.
